What is the FJC Fiscal Sponsorship Program?
The Fiscal Sponsorship Program (FSP) enables FJC to assist organizations and projects that: are awaiting their IRS tax-exempt approval; are too small, or temporary, for it to be fiscally viable for them to exist as an independent organization; are based overseas and are not able, or choose not to, maintain an "American Friends of" entity on their own behalf. Through the FSP, FJC is furthering its philanthropic mission so that approved participants and their supporters receive FJC’s expertise and charitable auspices. Areas of focus include education, intergroup relations, health services, social services, religion, science, arts and culture and the environment.
The FSP has proved to be a successful fundraising vehicle for both domestic and international organizations, and people who want to establish a presence in the non-profit community. This vehicle provides a U.S. tax-deductible opportunity to FSP participants, regardless of their geographic location.
To date, over 150 organizations from 14 countries have participated in the Program.
